About Me

I am the “Nearly Bendy Yogi”, a qualified Yoga Teacher in Epsom. I am a runner, cyclist, racket sports player and have looked after my health for many years, if not my whole adult life.

I offer classes for all levels of students, with options to suit a wide variety of abilities.

Entering my mid 40’s, I was picking up injuries that stopped me from playing sports for weeks and sometimes months. I was becoming stiff as I got older with not many options to rehabilitate, apart from general gym stretches. I was stiff with little ability for my body to repair.

Finding Yoga by accident online, I practice for many months not feeling much benefit but persevered as I was told it will do me good.

After about three months practicing yoga and no other sport, I decided to go for a run. Wow! I had loose hips and a spring in my step. Incredibly I ran my usual route quicker than before.  I carried on practicing yoga, running mainly injury free and easier than I did 10 years ago.

Yoga was initially a physical discipline, hard graft, a little like compound interest. The benefits can be slow to reveal themselves, but if you put in enough effort over time it starts to pay off.

I have since increased my knowledge of Yoga developing an understanding how breathing, quiet time, space and relaxation can benefit your health and attitude to life.

I trained as a Hatha Sivananda Yoga Teacher, Subsequently I have also studied and developed a Vinyasa practice including breathing and relaxation time. I feel this gives me a flexibility to teach a variety of classes and students.

I am the “Nearly bendy Yogi” always learning about my body and mind. I aim to maintain and increase my flexibility and develop my yoga practice further. I believe in breath with movement, working with your body and mind throughout the practice.

My lessons invite you to achieve your physical goals, become more flexible / maintain current flexibility, breath, be happy, relax your mind and body.

“I was shocked to realise that when you finished, 90 minutes had passed. I have no idea how to actually relax properly and for years, I’ve been wanting to try it. I have to admit I have a long way to go, but you’ve got me on the path to want to learn more”.

“My husband came home after your yoga lesson looking and feeling relaxed and refreshed.”

”Great Class, thank you.”
